The 40/41 is considered to be a woman's 7/8 combined. I typically wear an 8 to 8.5 and those are comfortable on me, though my toe is at the end. The 42 is comp to a woman's 9. I went with this size because i like to wear hugely thick socks... though next year I think I will get the 40/41. The 43, they call a woman's 10/ men's 9. Hope this helps!
